Sheaqueous Moisturiser by SheaByNature Review

Being someone who has dry and sensitive skin, I was delighted when SheaByNature kindly sent me this multi-purpose moisturiser to trial and review. The best thing about it is that it is for everyone! It's vegan friendly, suitable for babies and children as well as adults and no animal testing was involved in its production.

Ingredients

The Sheaqueous cream consists of only natural ingredients with no added fragrance. The natural oils used have so many health benefits, particularly the coconut oil, which penetrates well and works as an effective moisturiser. Vitamin E is another key ingredient, which both protects and heals the skin whilst preventing signs of aging.

As much as I praise SheaByNature for its use of only natural ingredients, I must say that even the smallest amount of added fragrance wouldn't go amiss. Catching a whiff of the product, the scent of melted plastic does come to mind! Believe me, I would know. I heated up a lot of acrylic in my days of resistant materials.

Texture

If you are familiar with Sudocrem, the thick consistency of this product is very similar to that! As the substance is quite thick, you do need to work it into your skin but the effects are instantly noticeable.

The natural oils penetrate the skin and rids it of all dryness, immediately hydrating it. The only drawback here is, although it effectively soothes dry skin and maintains it, it did leave me feeling rather greasy! It's not ideal - particularly in warm weather - to have such a thick layer of moisturiser on your skin. For me, it seems to lock in the sweat on my hands!

For this reason, I certainly would not recommend this product to those with oily skin. On the other hand, if you suffer from eczema or dry, itchy, cracked and sensitive skin, look no further!

Effectiveness

I trialled this product for two weeks on my face and hands because they are where my skin dries up the most. I found the Sheaqueous cream to be especially effective in tackling any dryness I had and it left my skin feeling very soft and nourished.

My face did break out a little after a couple of days of using the cream so I stop applying it there for a few days. Sure enough, the blemishes did go away but when I continued its daily application, I did not get a repeated reaction.

My overall verdict is that the Sheaqueous cream does everything it says it does on the pot. It effectively combats dry skin with natural and carefully selected ingredients. I do believe, that the fragrance and consistency could do with a bit of work but, if you are suffering with dry irritable skin, I would recommend this product to you!

Have you tried this product or would you like to?
